Sorry I haven't updated in awhile; Professor Takenouchi and I have been really busy finalizing our digimon documentary. Both of us put in a lot of extra hours this week, and we managed to finish everything just one day past the deadline.
Professor Takenouchi and I are still working on acquiring funding for our next project. We'll probably have a private screening of our documentary at the university for those people who donated or assisted with the project, and hopefully, we'll be able to bring in money that way. Let's just hope that's enough to bring in all the finances we need for our next project.
I'll probably have to look for something else to do until we begin our next project; our documentary funding is almost completely gone now, and it might be awhile before we can start our next.
The last time we were stuck between projects, I ended up working as a cameraman for an NTV drama filmed in Kyoto. The most memorable part of that job was probably having the company camera smashed by a Digimon.

Summary: An interview about Digimon goes slightly askew as the topic shifts from Digimon to love. [Backdated]

Mom's taken good care of the plants I left with her when I left for China. It's a bit of a relief. Some people get pets when they move out, but when I got my first apartment, I got plants. They may not jump in my lap when I return home from work, but they certainly make the apartment look a little better. And they don't require a pet deposit, either.
Professor Takenouchi and I began reviewing the shoots I took while in China on Monday. It's going to take some time for us to get through all this footage--and it's going to take even longer to decide what we're going to cut out. I'm just hoping we can get this all done by the end of the month. We had a lot of people invest in this project, but we're quickly running out of money. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can work on our next project. But don't think I'm going to rush through this project, either. It's important we put out a high-quality product so that we keep our old investors, and maybe attract a few new ones.
After Professor Takenouchi and I wrapped up work on Monday, I went home and sorted through a few boxes of my things. I don't move into my apartment until the end of next week, but there was something I was looking for that I needed for a project I'm working on for Jou's patient. Thankfully, I managed to find it rather easily, and took a trip back to university where I had a friend at the Photography Club develop some proofs for me.
I'm still not done with the project yet, but I'll hopefully have it done before I head to bed sometime tonight.
Jou, when's Rie scheduled to deliver?

I set up my cell phone the other day and finalized the plans for my new apartment. Usually, the landlady wouldn't allow anyone to move in until the end of the month, but she's going to let me move in on the 15th and just pay half of the rent I normally would.
Until then, I'm staying at mom and dad's. As much as I'd like to, I can't afford to stay in a hotel for another week. Fortunately, mom seems pretty glad to have me around the house.
Jou, is it okay if I attend the hospital baby shower for Rie? I've got two friends who are interested in going too, if it's alright with you.

If there was just one thing I missed about Japan, it'd be my brothers. We'll have to go get coffee again sometime soon. And not at the hospital cafeteria!
I started working on support for a thesis involving the Digital World today; even with a few days off, I can't seem to stop working. I'm probably getting as bad as Jou and Shin. But even with all this research, there's questions that can't really be answered without having actually gone to the digital world yourself. I thought about contacting the Chosen Children, but I'm not entirely sure that they--or their Digimon--would be able to answer my questions.
Normal people generally don't usually think about Digimon the way I do.
Tomorrow, I'm going to talk to my old landlady about renting with her again, and hopefully, I'll find the time to get a new cell phone too. I had the last one disconnected just before I left for China.
Does anyone have Motomiya Jun's cell phone number?
And Jou, good luck with Rie.
( Private to Shin. )

I'm finally back from China.
However, that doesn't mean my work's done--far from it, actually. There's still a lot of film to be cut and edit before the documentary's complete and ready for publication. And Professor Takenouchi still needs to do the voice-over for the narration before we can begin any of that.
Despite everything I've learned while in China--about the encounters the Chinese have had with their own Digimon, and the mythos most commonly associated with them--it sure is good to be home.
I should have a few days off to get everything settled; I'm going to have to find a new apartment, and gather my things from mom and dad's house. I'm staying at a hotel until then.
Shin, Jou, are the two of you available sometime this week? I haven't been a very good brother the past couple of months, and while I doubt that a few beef bowls and bottle of sake can make up for that, I'd still like to take the two of you out sometime this week.
